The Acquisition of Disaster Recovery Solutions Ltd (DRS) took place Friday 23rd October 2009.
Who are DRS?
DRS are providers of disaster recovery products and services to the SME market, with a main focus on business continuity. Using ‘best of breed’ products and services they are able to provide access to data, voice and space in the event of disaster or disruption to a company.
What can DRS provide you?

DRS provide online backup solutions which are fully automated, encrypted and secure for electronic data. They have a high degree of flexibility, quickly and easily allowing you to retrieve accidently deleted files or view and restore previously saved versions of files. Whilst also having the secure plan enabling you access and restore your entire system if it should become necessary.

DRS have an impressive portfolio of workplace recovery services, with 71 conveniently located office suites available for workplace recovery services. Twenty eight of these are based in London. All of their offices are fully equipped and furnished including full reception services, mail-handling, voicemail and telephone answering services. In the event of a disaster causing your premises unusable, DRS can relocate key staff to a pre-agreed office space of the companies geographical pleasing.

DRS Voice, this is telephony solutions that host your telephone numbers at network level. Allowing companies to utilise existing telephone equipment, manage increasing call volumes even replace whole telephony infrastructure. Therefore in the case of a disaster or disruption all incoming voice and data calls can be redirected within 1 hour of invocation to your alternative location, in most cases this is done immediately.
Why did Onyx Group acquire DRS?
The purchase of DRS is a strategic move for Onyx Group; DRS bring both an impressive geographical footprint of disaster recovery centres and excellent technical staff. The acquisition is to support the expansion of Onyx Group’s business continuity services giving us a national foothold in an increasingly important market.
Will the employees remain with DRS?
Yes, all DRS employees will join Onyx Groups strong workforce of 125 and help continue to support and provide for DRS clients.
Will Onyx Group continue to support DRS’s clients and solution portfolio?
Yes, DRS clients will receive the same excellent service that we offer our own clients. They will have the solutions they received with DRS with the added benefits of Onyx Groups large portfolio of solutions to complement their services.
